Burger King wanted to reconnect with the youth of Aruba. Burger King Corporate and Burger King Aruba are always in favor of working with the youth encouraging them to use their creativity and to be who they are. BK’s prior slogan Have it Your Way or the recent one Be Your Way really plays into this goal and mindset.
We created a new jingle with local artists Ataniro and Jeon and felt that it needed a commercial for that extra effect. Instead of creating something ourselves we challenged the youngsters of Aruba to show us whar this commercial should look like, based on the jingle. This is how the campaign started. They were able to create a video, upload this to our FB page and participate to win the grand prize. Part of the prize would be to use their concept to create the actual Cinema Commercial for Burger King.
After receiving all the participating videos we organized an event at the cinemas to announce the grand winner. The 5 most liked videos were presented on the big screen in front of a jury panel, the participants and their fans. The participants had the opportunity to explain abou and sell their video at this time to the jury. With the help of our 4 headed jury we were able to choose the winner. This winning commercial was so creatively made we decided to not alter anything, but just to adapt the beginning and add a little to the end. Till this day the commercial is showing in The Cinemas in Aruba.
